Our Story
Founded in 2003, Shenyuan Grape Technology has grown into a leader in China’s table grape industry, with 80 hectares of demonstration vineyards, 500,000 square meters of greenhouses and a cultivar bank of 2,000 local and international grape varieties in Zhangjiagang City, near Shanghai.
Shenyuan has registered dozens of cultivars and also operates over 200 hectares of vineyards across China—from Yunnan in the south to Sichuan in the center to Xinjiang in the northwest—allowing the company to test grapes in diverse climates.
The company not only creates and markets its own grapes but also connects tens of thousands of farmers with customers, supporting the industry through innovation, expertise and market access.

Shenyuan is committed to developing high-quality grape cultivars, promoting efficient breeding techniques and connecting this to the entire table grape value chain—from research and education to grape-growing supplies to direct sales into the consumer market.
True to its name, Shenyuan (“Divine Garden”) embraces an environmentally responsible approach, earning multiple awards in recognition of its efforts, including China GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) certificates.
Our Leadership
After seeing his father grow grapes in their family garden in 1981, Shenyuan founder Xu Weidong dedicated his life to table grapes. When Xu finished school in 1988, he pursued the business full-time in Zhangjiagang.
Xu started a 24-acre vineyard in 1993 and then expanded with a 120-acre grape research and promotion center in 1998. In 2003, he formally established Shenyuan, laying the foundation for a company that has become a driving force in China’s table grape industry.
Shenyuan has grown from a one-man operation with sales of RMB1000 to a company with over 200 employees, dozens of cultivars and annual sales exceeding RMB40 million. With a strong foundation in research and innovation, the company is now positioning itself for global expansion.
